Hengoed Company4Christmas
In 2019 we ran the highly successful Company4Christmas providing people who live alone in the Caerphilly county borough with Christmas dinner and entertainment on Christmas day.

Company4Christmas 2019 was the first time anything like this had been done in the Caerphilly county borough and Christmas day saw many people who would otherwise have spent Christmas day alone, enjoy the company of others and celebrate this important day in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The event was held at Hengoed Community Centre and saw people coming to Hengoed from as far as Risca and Trethomas, with many of these people being referred to Company4Christmas by Caerphilly County Borough Council Social Services.
The event was provided by volunteers and entirely self-funded!

Due to popular demand it is intended that Company4Christmas will go ahead again in 2020. The first planning meeting was held on the 12th of September.

In order for this to be an even greater success than last year Company4Christmas needs help and support, physical and financial.
Last year's event highlighted a number of significant issues, particularly with those guests who have a mental or physical disability. Because the event is run by volunteers there were no qualified care staff available to support disabled guests.
As such, if Company4Christmas are unable to find suitably qualified volunteer carers to support disabled guests, then these particularly vulnerable people will miss out.
